Where the vans go

Under the slab, in the trench, outside the wall, in the mechanical room.

A Johnson Plumbing day is not only dripping faucets. These are photos from their own jobs: commercial rough-ins, underground drain runs, a grinder basin and the water heaters that keep a kitchen open.

Under the slab

A rough-in set before the concrete goes down.

On a commercial build the plumbing goes in first. Drain and vent risers stand in trenched gravel between the steel studs, laid out to walls that do not exist yet, so the slab can be poured around them and every fixture lands where the drawings say.

A PVC drain run with wye fittings laid in a trench cut through a concrete floor inside a building under construction

In the trench

Drain lines bedded to fall, one fitting at a time.

Below the floor, the drain runs are laid in the trench with their wyes and sweeps placed where the sinks and toilets will be. Done right, nobody in the building ever thinks about it. Done wrong, every drain on the line runs slow for the life of the slab.

Outside the wall

A grinder basin set in the ground, lines tied in.

Where waste has to be pumped rather than drained, a grinder basin goes into the trench beside the building with the inlet and discharge lines connected and the lid brought up to grade. The mini excavator parked behind it is what opened the trench.

In the mechanical room

Two tankless heaters racked on one copper manifold.

For a kitchen that cannot run out of hot water, two tankless units share one copper manifold on a steel rack. It is the commercial version of the upgrade Johnson Plumbing recommends at home: more efficient than a tank, hot water that does not run out, and the floor space back.

“I highly recommend Johnson Plumbing. Tim is the best technician. I had another company come out on Monday for a water leak issue. They told me I needed to replace a toilet. I didn't think it was a toilet issue so I called Johnson and Tim came out. He found my issue which turned out to be an air conditioning problem. I would have wasted money for a new toilet and my problem would still not be resolved. Five stars from me.”

Yes. All of our plumbers are trained, background checked, drug tested and certified.

Johnson Plumbing has technicians available specifically for emergency calls, to diagnose and solve your plumbing problem right away. Call (479) 750-1440 anytime, 24/7, and Johnson Plumbing will answer.

A broken water line in the yard can show up as an unusually high water bill, puddles in the yard, or the sound of running water when no faucets or appliances are on. We pinpoint the problem without trial-and-error digging through working pipes, and in many cases we can fix it right away.

Common causes are a partially closed or malfunctioning shutoff valve, a crimped water line, or deposits built up inside older galvanized pipes. If your neighbors have strong pressure and you do not, the problem is most likely between the water meter and your home.

Instant hot water is a recirculation system that keeps hot water moving through your home's lines. When you open a fixture the warm water is already there, so you are not running water down the drain while you wait.

Yes. A plumber installs and repairs pipes and fixtures, diagnoses clogged drains and solves the problems with the water systems in your home. Faucets, showers, bathtubs, drains and garbage disposals are everyday work for us.
